Kids Day America is here again. The event is a free health, safety and environmental awareness event for children sponsored by Island Family Chiropractic. Kids Day America this year will be held from 12 until 3 pm on Saturday, May 5 at the Cobb Pinnacle Theatre in Gulf Shores. D.A.R.E. and Ronald McDonald House will be the beneficiary charities. Reaching a big milestone of nine decades this month is Orange Beach Bridge Club member Mr. Ernest McConnell who was recog- nized for having the highest bridge score in club history. Mr. McConnell cele- brated his 90th birthday on April 6th with special recognition by his friends and staff at the Senior Center. The Orange Beach Bridge Club meets on Tuesdays & Thursdays, 12noon to 3:30pm at the Orange Beach Senior Activity Cen- ter. There is still a lot of dealing going on down at the Center as Bridge competi- tion winners were for Tuesday, April 3rd: 1st: Bo Schook; 2nd: Ann Francis; 3rd: Barbara Martin: and for Thursday, April 5th: 1st: Marianne Grant & Evelyn Shaver; 2nd: Lanier Maudlin. Please note that the Orange Beach Public Library will be closed on Thursday, April 19 to allow all the staff to attend the state conference in Mobile. The library will reopen to its normal hours on Friday. Also, get ready for Baldwin County Spring Break April 16 through 20 so watch for kids playing during the day.
