PUBLICATIONS REPORT

Brigitte Weible stated the newsletter will be going out the beginning of November.

If board members come across any good articles, get the information to Brigitte so she can contact the appropriate people for permission to reprint.

PROGRAMS & EDUCATION REPORTS

1.

Regional

Yvonne Reedy needs help reviewing proposals when they arrive from the region directors in order to determine that they are eligible for us to give the play therapy CEs.  Lisa Millhouse, Marty Williams and Sandra McSwain all volunteered to help with this.

The Central Region charged $5.00 for CEs at the workshop just held on Oct. 16th.  The board agreed that the fee for all workshops would be $5.00 for ½ day workshops (no more than 3 hours) and $10 for full day workshops.

2.

2006 Conference

Lori Fedorczyk reported that Dottie Ward-Wimmer’s fee is $1500.  The title of her presentation will be “A Death Too Soon:  Play Therapy for Traumatic Loss.”  At this point, however, it will be a one day conference because the Request for Proposals netted no response, other than the possibility of re-offering the “Introduction to CCPT” workshop in order to reach new people.

After much discussion of various options, the board agreed on the following:

**Sandra McSwain will contact the Self-Esteem Shop regarding whether they are willing to be the vendor at our conference AND whether Dee Dee is open to leading a workshop on Bibliotherapy (Rise VanFleet recommended Dee Dee).

**If Dee Dee says “yes” to presenting, we would like for her to present Friday AM.

Whether or not Dee Dee says “yes” the conference will offer two workshops beginning at 1:00 PM on Friday:  the “Introduction to CCPT” and a workshop presentation by board members on our favorite play therapy techniques.  Debra Doubrava will put together a proposal for this workshop and get it to Lori F. this next week.

Lori F. will make sure Dottie Ward-Wimmer can present on Saturday, rather than Friday.

Conference Meetings

The board will meet at the close of the day on Friday over dinner to handle any board business.

Saturday lunch will be catered and people will eat and meet with their regional directors (or board representative).

There will be a Membership Meeting at the close of the day on Saturday, starting at 5:15 PM.   This time could include a recognition of new members, Q & A with board members, feedback on the conference, etc.
