The Spartan Chassis International Chapter (SCIC) has gone through many changes in the last year. I feel we have made positive moves to address issues, reduce SCIC’s reliance on Spartan Chassis, brought control of the Chapter back to the SCIC Executive Board and created a way to have more SCIC social events.

Our chapter is truly an International Chapter. I say this because many of our Canadian and American members worked together every day during the convention to recruit new SCIC members. At the post rally in Santa Fe, Roy Bishop and his “crew” (Robin and Jacquie Bishop and Murray and Doris Brooks) saved the day! They spent the better part of Sunday preparing a beautiful dinner for the group. Scott and Wanda Brady were the rally hosts but they became ill and were not able to attend the rally. Scott said that was only the second rally he has missed in over 20 years.

The chapter was informed by FMCA that we were out of compliance with FMCA By-Laws by not having a Vice President and Secretary. At the Santa Fe post rally a Chapter Business meeting was held, after verifying that the required number of members were in attendance to have a quorum. A motion was made to suspend the 30 day requirement for advance notice of the meeting so the business of electing a Vice President and Secretary could be done. David Starke was nominated for Vice President and Judy Yockey for Secretary. Both were elected and the SCIC is once again in compliance with FMCA By-Laws. Thank You David and Judy for stepping forward.

“…our chapter is truly an International Chapter… Canadians and Americans working together every day to recruit new SCIC members…”

Now is the time to start thinking about being a SCIC chapter officer. If you would be interested in running for a chapter office please contact the Nominating Committee Chairman, Jim Anten, yasky606@aol.com or 585-820-8248. The election will be at the summer convention in Wisconsin, 2011.

Membership: When you receive the December Newsletter the subject line will indicate when your SCIC Membership expires so you may take appropriate action. The idea to have the information available on line is proving to be a problem. If someone would like to step forward and help us make it work I would greatly appreciate it.

Contact Information: Out of date contact information is a problem for the chapter (i.e. newsletters and emails returned). Please send any information that needs to be updated to Judy Yockey at scijyockey@aol.com and put membership update in the subject line.
