on their trip?
How do you think they felt? Why?
How would you get to the West Coast of the United States today?
How did people get to the west before the invention of cars, buses, trains and planes?
Are these pictures quiet or noisy? How can you tell?
1. Pretend you are a traveler in the 1800's. Describe the beginning, middle and end of one day during your trip.
Draw a scene from that day.
Pretend you are a settler during the colonial days. What would you do for a living? Where would you live? Draw a picture of yourself in this role. Put as many details in the picture as you can.
