    With a ruler, measure the lines you see in Woodruff's painting. How do you think the measurements compare to the actual size of the objects in real life?

  • 2.

    On a 4" x 6" paper, draw lines of various lengths. Make some horizontal, vertical and diagonal. Add circles and triangles of various sizes to your composition. On a 8" x 12" paper, copy your picture exactly. Make each line and shape two times its original size.

3. Think of all the activities and jobs that people did during the Colonial Days that we do not do any more. Draw a picture of one of those jobs or activities; draw yourself at this job.
