CITY OF MELBOURNE, FLORIDA MINUTES – REGULAR MEETING BEFORE CITY COUNCIL APRIL 27, 2004
Mrs. Poole said she is opposed to the rezoning because this area was meant to be commercial. Also, she questioned the accuracy of saying that an apartment complex will serve the people working at the hospital and in the area. Mrs. Poole asked about the conditional use previously granted for a medical facility. Following a brief discussion between Mr. Gougelman and Planning & Economic Development Director Cindy Dittmer, Mr. Gougelman said that the conditional use has not been exercised. If the medical facility had been built, the conditional use would run with the land. Mrs. Dittmer added that this rezoning will result in the conditional use being repealed.
Mrs. Poole recommended that the City consider administratively rezoning the property in this area to Commercial Parkway.
The question was called. The roll call vote was:
Aye: Contreras, E. Palmer, Walker, Hand and Buckley
