COMPUTER SCIENCE Minimum Requirement: Successful completion of the Computer Literacy course or demonstration of equivalent competency is necessary to gradu- ate. This course is offered each trimester.
750 COMPUTER LITERACY This course introduces students to gen- eral concepts and practical skills. The educational applicability of software pro- grams (spreadsheets, slide presentations, databases, word processors) and their interactions are explored. Students are expected to access the Internet and learn to use it as an effective research tool. During the final weeks of the term, stu- dents are required to learn basic web de- sign using HTML. (one trimester/one-third credit)
SCIENCE Minimum Requirement: three years of science at the high school leve, plus one half credit of high school level health. Students are strongly encouraged to continue science throughout high school. The Oakwood Friends School sequence in science is Physics, Chem- istry, Biology. AP Biology, AP Chemistry, Ecology, and Robotics are offered at the upper grade levels.
801 HEALTH A wide range of topics dealing with all aspects of human health are covered in this course. Students gain a clearer sense of who we are, both physically and mentally. This knowledge helps us to live healthier and happier lives. Topics include
healthy interpersonal communica- tion, making overall healthy choices, human development, coping with stress, sexuality, STD's, nutrition and substance use/abuse. (one half credit)

The College Counselor works closely with the Senior Class Ad- visors to guide seniors and their parents through the college application process in the fall of the senior year and continues to advise students as they sort through financial aid and admis- sion offers.
