Aspen, Snowmass, and Telluride are popular ski resorts in Colorado; San Luis Obispo is located on California’s premier tourist attraction, the Pacific Coast Highway (Highway One). None of these suffered any negative economic ramifications following enactment of smoking ordinances.89 90
Forty convention groups, representing 174,840 attendees that met in San Diego in 1991 and 1992, were asked if they would return if a smokefree restaurant ordinance was in effect. Only one group, representing candy and tobacco companies, indicated that they would not return.91
