The resort currently has three buildings. The Cancun Building has the main lobby, sales offices, adults and children lounges, and units on the sec- ond through fourth floor. Two wings off this building have 4 floors of units. One side of each faces the parking area and front entrance to the resort and the other looks out toward the courtyard and pool area.
The Tikal building consists of 4 floors of units with one side facing the parking lot and the other the pool area. The Yucatan Building has another 4 floors of units as well as a small gym that is open 8am to10pm. One side faces the pool area and the other looks out toward the Las Vegas Strip hotels off in the distance.
Construction of another building is taking place next to one end of the Tikal building, alongside the pool area. Temporary wood walls have been put up to block the construction site from the pool area.
The resort grounds are nicely done in a Mayan Theme. There is a Mayan pyramid in the center court yard sur- rounded by a huge swimming pool. One side of the pyramid has a water- falls flowing into the pool; the other side has 4 waterslides into a separate smaller swimming pool. Hot spas are located around the pool; one is located under the waterfalls inside the pyra- mid.

The Caribe lounge serves drinks, breakfast and lunch next to the pool with seating inside as well as out.
A very large 24-hour adult lounge is close to the lobby with TV, sofas, tables, pool, table tennis, fosball and a hand shuffleboard table.
A children’s arcade is open from 8am to 10pm with video games, fosball, table tennis and computers for tots. There was also a day care center, but this may be for children of people tak- ing a sales tour as I could find no in- formation about it in the papers I re- ceived about the resort.
The two-bedroom unit:
KITCHEN: Full-size gas range/
oven and refrigerator tucked into a small alcove. A table for 6 is tucked into another opposite alcove.
LIVING ROOM: Sofa sleeper,
two end tables, one chair , table in the center and entertainment center with TV and VCR. Sliding glass doors lead to a small balcony with chair, table and chaise lounge. The living room area is small; is not a lot of room for 6 people.
MASTER .BEDROOM: King-
size bed with two night tables, TV and a tiny closet with electronic safe, with just enough space to move around the bed The only dresser space is in the two night tables and two drawers in the TV stand.
MASTER BATH: Long narrow
area with his and hers sinks, large 2- person whirlpool tub.
SECOND BEDROOM: Queen
bed with two night stands and armoire with TV and two dresser drawers, stool and a tiny closet.
BATHROOM: Two sinks and
a one person whirlpool tub
I was not really all that impressed with the standard two-bedroom unit we had and felt it was only partial five- star quality. The grounds and common areas of the Cancun resort are five- star quality but the ongoing construc- tion may detract some at this point in time.
The plans for the resort call for it
