THE CYPRUS TURKISH EDUCATION SYSTEM

It is intended to enable pupils who have completed their apprenticeship education programs to:

    • 1.

      possess discipline at work and appreciate the importance of the discipline

    • 2.

      learn common procedures in various professions

    • 3.

      adopt the principles of labor security

    • 4.

      obtain a common general culture

    • 5.

      develop attitudes and manners facilitating the adaptation to the working life

  • 3.

    Continuing Training Centers

"Continuing Training Centers" aim at providing individuals with the opportunity to enrich their knowledge and abilities to compete for employment in a rapidly changing world. They function within the "Informal Education Unit" of the Ministry.

Overall formal education schools are transformed into continuing education centers, Depending on the lifelong learning approach, continuing training centers serve the individual who has left the system at any period or who wishes to develop or change his job or to acquire a different profession, In these centers, programs which will meet the needs of the society and which are highly demanded are offered such as vocational education certificate programs, foreign language programs, computing certificate programs etc,

4. Fine Arts High school

In an attempt to establish the infrastructure and cultural background of a contemporary society which appreciates art and artists, Fine Arts High School functions in parallel with the following aims:

  • 1.

    to educate pupils in the area of fine arts in line with their interests and talents; to increase their artistic talents to a satisfactory level, to enable them to possess international standards and functions,

  • 2.

    to prepare them for higher education programs requiring special ability, to build an active bridge between primary education and higher education in these areas within the education system

  • 3.

    To develop pupils' communication skills in English or in a minimum of one valid foreign language apart from their native language,

  • 4.

    to render their artistic developments equivalent to their scientific, technical, cultural and philosophical developments
