By Hala Abu-Hamdan

Resides in Michigan with her family

The new human built 7 wonders were elected by over 100 million votes cast by citizens from around the world. They were announced in Lisbon on July 7, 2007. In order they are:

  • 1.

    The Taj Mahal, India

  • 2.

    Christ the Redeemer, Brazil

  • 3.

    Chichen Itza, Mexico

  • 4.

    Great Wall, China

  • 5.

    Petra, Jordan

  • 6.

    Machu Picchu, Peru

  • 7.

    The Colosseum, Italy

AL FAJER - THE DAWN - DRUZE INTERNATIONAL MAGAZINE

The Seven Blunders of the World is a list that Mahatma Gandhi gave to his grandson Arun Gandhi, not long before his assassination. The seven blunders are:

  • 1.

    Wealth without work

  • 2.

    Pleasure without conscience

  • 3.

    Knowledge without character

  • 4.

    Commerce without morality

  • 5.

    Science without humanity

  • 6.

    Worship without sacrifice

  • 7.

    Politics without principle

This was from Gandhi's search for the roots of vio- lence. He called these acts of passive violence. Pre- venting these is the best way to prevent oneself or one's society from reaching a point of violence. To this list, Arun Gandhi added an eighth blunder:

8.

Rights without responsibilities
