It gives us immense delight and eminent respect to, once again, take part in presenting to our broth- ers and sisters in the Druze communities in North America the events and gatherings achieved by our Canadian Druze Society of Ontario (CDSO) – Ottawa Chapter in the past 4 months in order to bring us all closer together, and bind us stronger.
1. Religious Lecture Series, October 7th and November 10th
Administered by the highly respected, Sheikh Jazaa Al-Sahnawi, these lectures discussed the “Tawhid” faith & its teachings through presenting the book “Maslak-Al-Tawhid” by its honourable authour Dr. Sami Makarem. These lec- tures took place at the University of Ottawa.
Eid-Al-Adha Religious Session, Dec 9th
Sheikh Jazaa Al-Sahnawi Also administered by Sheikh Jazaa Al-Sahnawi, this Eid celebration took on a religious way of explaining the meaning of Eid-Al-Adha to our children, youth and adults, according to the Druze faith. The event was a great success, as 75 of our brothers and sisters gathered and celebrated Eid with traditional sweets and refreshments. The event took place at the University of Ottawa.
3. New Year s Party, Dec 21st
In celebration of the upcoming New Year, about 80% of our Ottawa Druze community gathered together at the Gallery Lounge in Ottawa in an atmoshphere of joyous dancing and talent activities. The party in- cluded a delicious dinner, a tombola draw for prizes, and some won- derful surprises.
