THE MOTHER CLUB OF LIONISM IN HAWAII
District 50 Convention,
Four members of the Honolulu Lions Club attended the District 50 Lions Convention held on May 1!3, 2008 at Wailuku, Maui. The following was received in time for publication!
Lion Keoni shared that in spite of being booked on a wrong )ight "to Lihue instead of Wailuku #, luggage that did not arrive in time for the evening dinner and the *rush to buy clothes to wear, the event was indeed a very positive experience for me and Lion Kent. This was our (rst convention. The elections of o'cers and directors were quite classic in nature yet very entertaining. It was a parade of *stand!up comedians+ of various accents and themes. They were funny and laughable to a point that many never stopped snickering and giggling. The hospitality was impeccable....The Saturday evening banquet was itself a total new experience. The opening reminded me of 1940$s Military Cotillion Ball where o'cers with designated escorts were one by one introduced upon entering the arena. It was a semi!gala event, the men in their tuxedos or black suits and their CISs were all wearing designer gown or dress. And so it goes, it$s another day in paradise, indeed, a paradise for Hawaii Lions!+
Mahalo to Lion Keoni for your very candid and entertaining commentary on your (rst District 50 Convention!! "thanks to Lions Keoni and Juan Ochoco, East Kauai LC for the pics#
