Status Committee Efforts (Treasurer, Membership
Director, South Suburban Rep., Seniors, Welcome, Social Committee)
Several people have stepped up to work on the front garden. We hope to establish themed gardens in the beds with the help of the children in the after school program at Acres Green Elementary School.
Over the next few weeks we will be adding amendment to the soil in the gardens, picking out plants and planting after the threat of frost passes (after Mothers’ Day May 8). We will then be put- ting a layer of mulch on top to keep the beds as moist as possible.
One long time resident has volunteered to help us with watering. We still need help thinning out the old Irises and perhaps interspersing other drought hardy plants between the iris. We can al- ways use help weeding through out the garden ar- ea. Contact Jean at firstname.lastname@example.org to get on the e-mail list for gardening.
