Metrics of a Top Class
In the last newsletter I laid out three goals for the Class of 78, which will help us win a Class of the Year award in the fall --
increase our participation in giving to the College,
increase the number of us who pay class dues. Dues cover a) your Alumni Magazine subscription, b) printing and mailing this newsletter, and c) our class projects. Please respond to Kristin McChesney’s bills when they arrive, and
record 30th reunion attendance.
On Class Projects: The Life Sciences Building is the class project to end all class projects. It will bring many, many benefits to Dartmouth and the world for decades to come.
Inspired by the incredible effort going into that project, we might want to redouble our commitment to old class projects – like funding a Tucker fellow at the Pine Ridge Reservation – and new ones. The alumni office can help us come up with inventive and innovative ones. Interested? Please get in touch with David Corey (info at right). ___________________________

Listen On Line to Faculty Talks on 23 Topics
Thanks to a new feature offered by Alumni Continuing Education (ACE) on the Alumni Relations Web site, we can now listen to or download faculty talks on 23 topics via ACE on Audio:. www.alumni.dartmouth.edu.ace/audio
"It's been my goal since coming to the College in 2001 to offer online learning to alumni and friends," says Roberta Moore, director of ACE & Travel. "I'm delighted to be able to give alumni access to the Dartmouth faculty in an appealing audio format that lets them listen anytime, anywhere."
Among the talks available:
Retired history professors Jere Daniell '55 and Ken Shewmaker recount the dramatic struggle for control of Dartmouth between the State of New Hampshire and the Dartmouth Board of Trustees.
They cover the alumni dissonance leading up to it, the details of the 1819 U.S. Supreme Court case in which Daniel Webster argued successfully for the College, and the consequences of the case, which changed the course of American constitutional history.
