3.4.4 Adaptive Antenna System

The PHY optionally supports and provides a signaling structure that enables the use of adaptive antenna system (AAS). The features enables the transmission of DL and UL burst using directed beams, each intended for one or more SSs. In addition, the feature allows SS to deliver channel quality feedback to the BS [2].

3.4.5 Transmit Diversity:

Space time block codes (STBC) can be implemented in the DL to provide transmit diversity. The feature is optional to implement. In [2], Alamouti STBC [20] has been proposed as a good candidate to implement this feature providing diversity in time and space.
