Sept. 26, 1977—Cleveland 30, New England 27, at Cleveland; Browns won coin toss. Brian Sipe threw a 22- yard pass to Dave Logan at Patriots’ 19. Don Cockroft kicked a 35-yard field goal at 4:45.

Sept. 10, 1978—Cleveland 13, Cincinnati 10, at Cleveland; Browns won toss. Larry Collins returned a kickoff 41 yards to the Browns’ 47. Don Cockroft kicked a 27-yard field goal at 4:30.

Sept. 24, 1978—Pittsburgh 15, Cleveland 9, at Pittsburgh; Steelers won toss. Bennie Cunningham scored on a 37-yard “gadget” pass from Terry Bradshaw at 3:43. Steelers started winning drive on their own 21.

Dec. 10, 1978—Cleveland 37, New York Jets 34, at Cleveland; Browns won toss. Don Cockroft kicked a 22- yard field goal at 3:07.

Sept. 2, 1979—Cleveland 25, New York Jets 22, at New York; Jets won toss. Pat Leahy’s 43-yard field goal attempt was wide right at 4:41. Johnny Evans’ punt was blocked by Donald Dykes and recovered by Tom Newton. Chuck Ramsey punted into the end zone for a touchback. Evans punted and Bruce Harper returned to the Jets’ 24. Matt Robinson’s pass was intercepted by Oliver Davis and returned 33 yards to Jets’ 31. Don Cockroft kicked a 27-yard field goal at 14:45.

Nov. 18, 1979—Cleveland 30, Miami 24, at Cleveland; Browns won toss. Brian Sipe passed 39 yards to Reggie Rucker for touchdown at 1:59.

Nov. 25, 1979—Pittsburgh 33, Cleveland 30, at Pittsburgh; Browns won toss. Brian Sipe’s pass was inter- cepted by Mel Blount on the Steelers’ four. Terry Bradshaw’s pass was intercepted by Ron Bolton on Browns’ 12. Johnny Evans punted and Theo Bell returned to the Steelers’ 17. Matt Bahr kicked a 37-yard field goal at 4:51.

Nov. 8, 1981—Denver 23, Cleveland 20, at Denver; Browns won toss. Dennis Smith recovered Calvin Hill’s fumble at the Denver 48. Craig Morton’s 33-yard pass to Rick Upchurch and six-yard run by Dave Preston set up Fred Steinfort’s 30-yard field goal at 4:10.

Sept. 25, 1983—Cleveland 30, San Diego 24, at San Diego; Browns won toss. Harry Holt scored on 48-yard pass play from Brian Sipe at 1:53.

Oct. 30, 1983—Cleveland 25, Houston 19, at Cleveland; Oilers won toss. Teams traded punts. Mike Whitwell intercepted Gifford Nielsen’s pass and returned it to the Oilers’ 20. Boyce Green scored a touchdown on next play at 6:34.

Dec. 2, 1984—Cincinnati 20, Cleveland 17, at Cleveland; Browns won toss. Browns failed to get first down and Steve Cox punted 41 yards. John Simmons returned the punt 30 yards to the Browns’ 35. Jim Breech kicked a 35-yard field goal at 4:34.

Sept. 8, 1985—St. Louis 27, Cleveland 24, at Cleveland; Cardinals won toss. Ron Wolfley returned the kickoff 24 yards to the St. Louis 36. The Cardinals gained 46 yards in nine plays before Neil O’Donoghue kicked a 35- yard field goal at 5:27.

Nov. 23, 1986—Cleveland 37, Pittsburgh 31, at Cleveland; Browns won toss. Following an exchange of pos- sessions, Bernie Kosar threw a 36-yard touchdown pass to Webster Slaughter at 6:37.

Nov. 30, 1986—Cleveland 13, Houston 10, at Cleveland; Houston won toss and elected to kickoff. The Browns’ drive was stalled. Frank Minnifield intercepted Oliver Luck. The Browns’ drive halted. Minnifield intercepted Luck again. Mark Moseley kicked a 29-yard field goal at 14:44.

Jan. 3, 1987—Cleveland 23, N.Y. Jets 20 (2 OT), at Cleveland (AFC Divisional Playoffs); Jets won coin toss in first overtime. Dave Jennings punted to Browns’ 26. Browns drove to Jets 5. Mark Moseley missed 23-yard field goal (wide right). Jennings punted to Browns 38. Jeff Gossett punted to Jets 19. Jennings punted to Browns 31. Moseley kicked 27-yard field goal following a 60-yard drive at 2:02 (2nd OT).

Jan. 11, 1987—Denver 23, Cleveland 20, at Cleveland (AFC Championship); Browns won toss. Jeff Gossett punted to Gerald Willhite, who returned the ball to the Denver 25. Rich Karlis kicked a 33-yard field goal at 5:48.

Nov. 1, 1987—San Diego 27, Cleveland 24, at San Diego; Browns won toss. Bernie Kosar’s pass intended for Ernest Byner was intercepted by Vencie Glenn. Vince Abbott kicked 33-yard field goal at 2:16.

Oct. 8, 1989—Miami 13, Cleveland 10, at Miami; Browns won toss. Matt Bahr missed a 44-yard field goal wide left. Pete Stoyanovich kicked a 35-yard field goal at 8:37.

Nov. 19, 1989—Cleveland 10, Kansas City 10, at Cleveland; Browns won toss. Each team had three posses- sions. Nick Lowery was short on a 47-yard field goal attempt at :17.

Dec. 10, 1989—Indianapolis 23, Cleveland 17, at Indianapolis; Browns won toss. Matt Bahr missed a 35-yard field goal wide left. The Colts punted. Bernie Kosar’s pass was intercepted by Mike Prior, who returns 58 yards for a TD at 4:06.

Dec. 17, 1989—Cleveland 23, Minnesota 17, at Cleveland; Browns won toss. After both teams punted, Mike Pagel threw a 14-yard pass to Van Waiters on a fake 31-yard field goal attempt at 5:30.

Oct. 20, 1991—Cleveland 30, San Diego 24, at San Diego; Chargers won toss. The teams exchanged posses- sions. David Brandon scored on a 30-yard interception of John Friesz at 9:02.
