Assistance Being Provided to Disaster-Affected Communities in NSW

This assistance is provided through Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements and applies to the natural disaster declared areas within the State.

March 2011 Severe Storm

NDRRA assistance has been made available for the following 7 local government areas as a result of the March 2011 Severe Storm: Bega, Bland, Bombala, Eurobodalla, Kiama, Shoalhaven and Shellharbour.

NDRRA assistance for the March 2011 severe storm includes:

  • personal hardship and distress assistance,

  • certain counter disaster operations,

  • restoration of essential public assets,

  • concessional loans of up to $130,000 for small businesses and primary producers,

  • concessional loans of up to $25,000 for voluntary, non-profit organisations, and

  • road and rail freight subsidies of up to $15,000 to assist primary producers for the carriage

of livestock and fodder.

February 2011 floods

NDRRA assistance has been made available for the following 16 local government areas as a result of the February 2011 floods: Albury City, Balranald, Berrigan, Conargo, Cootamundra, Corowa, Greater Hume, Hay, Jerilderie, Junee, Lockhart, Murray, Urana, Wagga Wagga, Wakool and Wentworth. NDRRA assistance for the February 2011 floods includes:

  • personal hardship and distress assistance,

  • certain counter disaster operations,

  • restoration of essential public assets,

  • concessional loans of up to $130,000 for small businesses and primary producers,

  • concessional loans of up to $25,000 for voluntary, non-profit organisations, and

  • road and rail freight subsidies of up to $15,000 to assist primary producers for the carriage

of livestock and fodder

  • clean up and recovery grants of up to $15,000 for small businesses and primary producers.

26 December 2010 January 2011 Floods and November 2010- December 2010 Floods Events

NDRRA assistance has been made available for the following 13 local government areas as a result of the 26 December 2010 January 2011 Floods: Armidale - Dumeresq, Ballina, Bellingen, Byron, Clarence Valley, Glen Innes - Severn, Guyra, Inverell, Kyogle, Lismore, Richmond Valley, Tenterfield and Tweed.

NDRRA assistance has been made available for the following 64 local government areas as a result of the November 2010- December 2010 Floods: Balranald, Bathurst, Berrigan, Blayney, Bogan, Boorowa, Bourke, Brewarrina, Cabonne, Central Darling, Cobar, Conargo, Coolamon, Cooma- Monaro, Coonamble, Cootamundra, Corowa, Cowra, Dubbo, Forbes, Gilgandra, Goulburn-
