October 5, 2005

Wednesday, 7:00 p.m., BCA: “The World-Class Battlefield Next Door” Blackridge Road resident Bob Messner is the author of Reflections From Braddock’s Battlefield, and serves on the board of the Braddock’s Field Historical Society. Everyone, young and old, is invited to hear about the battle of the Monongahela in this, its 250th anniversary year.

Tuesday, 11 a.m., BCA: Lewis and Clark: Contributions to Botany Cyndi Fink, a chemist for Lanxess (formerly Bayer) with a masters degree in plant ecology, gives an overview of the Lewis and Clark expedition with emphasis on plants discovered by the explorers.

Tuesday, 11 a.m., BCA, carpool from BCA: Clayton in Holiday Glory A special Christmas brunch followed by a tour of Clayton, the Frick mansion in Point Breeze, decorated for Christmas.
