The marketing department at the retailer is supporting a broad deployment of the Cisco DMS in the stores, although the economic downturn is delaying the store transformation project. Meanwhile, During the pilot, Cisco briefed the customer on other features that have subsequently become available with Cisco DMS, including zoning digital content to different geographic areas and seasonally. Interactivity is another exciting new capability that, when deployed on a touch screen at a store kiosk, can help customers assemble outfits and suggest accessories. There is also a new application that measures what consumers are viewing on the digital screens, determines the demographics of the viewers, and captures how long they interacted with the programming, potentially valuable market research metrics.
