Oregon State University

In the department of Design and Human Environment (DHE) at Oregon State University, Drs. Brigitte Cluver and Hsiou-Lien Chen received the 2010 Cotton Student Sponsorship Program Award for the project entitled – Cotton Across the Curriculum for $31,844 from Cotton, Inc. The award will provide funding for faculty and student professional development and curricular development related to cotton. Dr. Elaine Pedersen received funding from OSU Women’s Giving Circle to improve the DHE apparel collection. College of Health and Human Sciences launched the Hallie Ford Center for Healthy Children and Families on September 9, 2009. The center is designed to promote a holistic approach to address the needs of children and families and more than 30 faculty in the college is involved in the center. Oregon State University will be going through some administrative re-organization over the next 2 years.  The goal of the re-organization is to position the university for future growth around three strategic initiatives: Healthy People, Healthy Planet, and Healthy Economy.
