      Pricing

The 1st half of 2008 showed an overall slowing of price appreciation in New York City as a weakening market in New York City and the world as a whole brought about more restraint from owners and potential clients. Average rental price from the 1st half of 2007 to the 1st half of 2008 climbed by just $45 to $2763 per month. This 1.6% increase is the lowest since we have created the market report and is less than 25% the size of the increase from 2006 to 2007 when the increase was 6.3%. These figures show that the world market is at work taming the demand for relatively highly priced New York City apartments.
