The Device Attributes dialog box allows you to assign priority attributes to specific logical devices. These attributes assist Optimizer during sample analysis. Defined attributes are:
High Priority ― Assign this device the highest priority because it contains crucial data. Optimizer attempts to achieve the best performance for this device without sacrificing the performance of other devices in this high-priority group.
Normal Priority ― This device is eligible for swap, but assign it a normal priority.
No Swap ― Do not swap.

Do not define too many devices as high priority because that will eliminate optimization options. As a rule of thumb, the number of high priority devices should not exceed 10 percent of the number of disks.
Setting Device Attributes from SMC To set logical device priority, follow these steps and refer to Figure 12:
Select one or more logical device using the device filter.
Click one of the priority buttons to set the priority for the selected rows.
Click OK to save the changes
