RECREATION GROUND MATTERS Report from Recreation Ground Committee

  • Received £15,955 from the Football Foundation.

  • The ground is a little rutted and needs to be rolled, use of a roller has been procured and also the finance committee has agreed to the purchase of a tractor with grass tyres.

  • A note of thanks has been sent to Mr Thompsett.

  • ECDC received a grant from The Big Lottery Fund, £200,000. Isleham picked out of one of the first – grant £11,250. PC need to match fund up to £3,750

  • Transport & Access County & District: Isleham comes out top of the black spots for lack of any public transport whatsoever; anything said is always responded to with ‘we have no money’. The vicar of the Three Rivers parishes, Rev Mike Banyard, is working as coordinator for a car sharing scheme.

  • East Cambs are trailing alternate week rubbish collection, they seem to think it works quite well, two councillors head of environment services will be at neighbourhood panel. Food waste can go every week either in the black bag or brown bag, they also do a nappy collection.

  • Agreed to purchase a tractor.

  • Grant for Play Area: noted that an amount had been set aside to match fund the grant.

  • Youth Bus _ small amount of funding available for youth club: £150

ALLOTMENT MATTERS Dunstall Allotment Working Party

  • Cllr Beckett contacted as district councillor.

  • The use of tractors needs to be restricted.

  • Chalk that has been removed from the cemetery could be used in the roadway.

  • Conditions of hire of allotments – could this be reviewed?

Neighbourhood Panel meeting

he next Neighbourhood Panel meeting will take place at Victoria Hall in Fordham on Wednesday 20th June at 7 pm. The Panel is made up of Parish, District and County Councillors and local representatives from Chippenham, Snailwell, Soham, Isleham, Fordham, Kennett and Wicken. T

The role of the panel is to discuss concerns in the area such as policing, health, housing and children and young people and the panel aims to work with the relevant agencies such as the Police, District Council, Hereward Housing and the County Council to tackle these issues. The meeting gives members of the public the opportunity to raise issues and to witness the decision making process. Everyone is welcome and teas and coffees are available at 6.45 pm when the doors open.
