DEGREE PROGRAMMES OFFERED: Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)

In addition to degrees in General Agriculture Agribusiness Man- agement Human Ecology (with specializations in Nutrition and Dietetics or Consumer Sciences) Chemistry with Management and Computer Science with Management a B.Sc. General degree is awarded with one or more Majors chosen from the following:

  • Agricultural Science Agribusiness & Management Biochemis-

try Biology Botany Chemistry Computer Science Environ- mental & Natural Resource Management Geography Math- ematics Nutrition and Dietetics Physics & Zoology

A Major in any Faculty of Science discipline may be taken together with another Major, or one or two Minors from the Faculty of Science & Agriculture or another Faculty.

CERTIFICATE PROGRAMMES OFFERED: University Certificate Programmes in Agriculture (UCPA) by Distance:

Certificate in Tropical Agricuture (CTA)

Certificate of Specialisation in Tropical Agriculture (CSTA)

DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES OFFERED: Diploma in Agricultural Extension

Diploma/Internship in Institutional and Community Dietetics and Nutrition

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Subjects at CSEC (CXC)/GCE O-level

  • A minimum of five (5) CSEC (CXC) General Profi- ciency (Grades I-III) or GCE O-Level subjects, or their equivalents which must include - English Lan- guage, Mathematics and any two of the following: Chemistry, Biology, Agricultural Science, Physics and Geography; and

  • Passes in at least two 2-unit CAPE courses or two GCE A-Level subjects, at least one of which must be a Science subject.

OR

  • A Diploma, or Associate Degree in Agriculture, Nutrition and Dietetics or Science from a recog- nized Tertiary Level Institution, with normally a mini- mum average of B or GPA of 2.75

FOR COMPUTER SCIENCE & MANAGEMENT

  • A pass in Mathematics at CAPE OR GCE A-level as

one of the approved Science subjects is required.

FOR CHEMISTRY & MANAGEMENT

  • A pass in Chemistry at CAPE or GCE A-level as

one of the approved Science subjects is required.

FOR GEOGRAPHY

  • A pass in two 2-unit CAPE courses or two GCE A- level, one of which must be Geography.

  • For teachers, any advanced certificate from a recognised tertiary level institution will be accepted, in addition to at least one (1) year teaching experience of the subject.

  • For mature students, the requirements are relevant working experience, educational certificates and successful completion of the programme’s prerequisite course.
