Bachelor of Basic Medical Sciences
The Bachelor of Basic Medical Sciences offers Majors in the following disciplines: Anatomy, Biochemistry, Pharmacology and Physiology
i) GCE O-Level (Grades A/C) CSEC
General Proficiency Level (Grades I & II) pre 1998; (Grades I - III from 1998) in English Language, Mathematics, Biol- ogy, Chemistry and Physics.
GCE A-Level/Cape (2 Units per sub-
ject): a minimum of two subjects chosen from Chemistry, Biology/Zoology, Phys- ics/Mathematics
UWI Preliminary Pure an Applied Science Courses - Chemistry, Life Sciences, Physics, Mathematics.
Equivalent qualifications (as determined from transcripts) to those above.
A limited number of mature students (≥ 21 years) with the GCE O-LEVEL/CSEC
requirements stated above at (i) and relevant work experience in a research/ medical laboratory.

(B.Sc.N) (Generic) The programme is offered through the Browns Town Community College, Excelsior Community College and Univer- sity Hospital of the West Indies (UHWI). The programme is offered over a period of four years.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Five CSEC (CXC) General Proficiency (Grades I-III) subjects or GCE O-Level inclusive of English Language, Biology/ Integrated Science, Mathematics/Ac- counts and two other approved subjects.
Note: Students registered in the Bachelor of Medical Sciences Programme cannot transfer to the MBBS programme. However, on com- pletion can apply to the MBBS programme where credits may be granted.
