IN SHAPING HER RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS FOR CONSIDERATION OF HER NEXT YEAR'S FISCAL BUDGET.

SUP. MOLINA: ON THAT, I DON'T MIND IT AS AN AMENDMENT; I JUST DON'T WANT IT AS A SUBSTITUTE, AS IT'S WRITTEN HERE. IS THAT ACCEPTABLE? ON THE AMENDMENT THAT-- SUPERVISOR ANTONOVICH JUST ADDED AN AMENDMENT TO THE LIBRARY CURTAILMENT PLAN. I DON'T MIND IT AS AN AMENDMENT. I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH IT AS A SUBSTITUTE. LET ME TELL YOU WHY. THE ISSUE HERE IS THAT I'M HOPING THE LIBRARIAN WILL DEVELOP A SERIES OF PLANS FOR US. AND ONE OF THE PLANS THAT WE SHOULD TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION, JUST CONSIDERATION, IS THAT WE HAVE A LOT OF CITIES, AND SOME OF US WERE VERY AMBITIOUS AND ASSERTIVE WITH OUR CITIES ABOUT PUTTING IN A PLAN TO LOOK AT RAISING REVENUES IN THE CITIES TO JOIN IN A PARTNERSHIP WITH US FOR MANY OF THE PLANS OF THE LIBRARIES THAT ARE IN THEIR CITIES. AND MANY CITIES DID TAKE US UP ON IT AND THE REALITY IS THEY TRIED VERY HARD. HUNTINGTON PARK DID A HUGE CAMPAIGN AND FELL LESS THAN A PERCENTAGE POINT SHORT OF PASSING THAT. AND SO WHAT I WANT TO
