SUP. MOLINA: AGAIN, IT WAS SILENT ON THAT ASPECT OF IT. BUT LET'S TALK ABOUT THE UNEVENNESS NOW WITHIN OUR LIBRARIES. RIGHT NOW, WE HAVE A PROCESS THAT STARTED UNEVEN, MR. YAROSLAVSKY, DECADES AGO, AND IT CONTINUES TO GET MORE UNEVEN IN WHICH CITIES ARE MAKING A CONTRIBUTION. THERE ARE CITIES NOW THAT ARE MAKING A CONTRIBUTION. THERE ARE SEPARATE FUNDS THAT ARE SET UP THAT ARE CREATED VERY, VERY DIFFERENTLY, AND WHAT WE WANT TO DO IS, WHEN WE LOOK AT CURTAILMENTS, WE WANT TO LOOK AT ALL THE DIFFERENT OPTIONS. I'M HOPING THAT OUR LIBRARIAN WILL HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO WORK WITH THOSE CITIES AND LOOK AT OPTIONS OF HOW TO TRADE OTHER KINDS OF SERVICES. FOR EXAMPLE, JANITORIAL. FOR EXAMPLE, SOME KIND OF UPGRADES OF SIMPLE THINGS LIKE CARPETING OR CLEANING A BATHROOM, AS WE'VE HAD PROBLEMS IN HUNTINGTON PARK AND OTHER KINDS OF THINGS THAT WE COULD DO. SOME OF OUR LIBRARIES HAVE MORE UTILIZATION. TO GO BACK AND TO JUST LOOK AT THE 5% CUT, 10%, WHATEVER THE CUT IS GOING TO BE, IS UNFAIR TO THOSE CITIES THAT ARE STRUGGLING TO FIND THE WAYS BECAUSE IT COMES TO A POINT IN TIME WITH CERTAIN CITIES ARE GOING TO HAVE NO LIBRARY SERVICES ON CERTAIN DAYS OR THE HOURS WILL BE SO LIMITED THAT IT JUST IS GOING TO BE VERY, VERY DIFFICULT TO OPERATE. WHAT I'M TRYING TO DO IS TO EMPOWER OUR LIBRARIAN TO BE CREATIVE. EMPOWER OUR LIBRARIAN TO COME UP WITH ALL THE DIFFERENT OPTIONS. WE STAYED SILENT ON THAT ASPECT OF IT BUT THE UNEQUAL PART IS VERY CLEAR. RIGHT NOW, YOU HAVE COUNTY
