LIBRARIAN TO KEEP THOSE LIBRARIES OPEN. BUT IT ISN'T A PAINFUL THING FOR YOU, MR. YAROSLAVSKY. YOU DON'T HAVE HUNTINGTON PARK, SOUTHGATE, AND MOST OF THE SAN GABRIEL CITIES THAT THE ONLY LIBRARY IN TOWN IS THE COUNTY LIBRARY OR MONTEBELLO, WHO HAS THIS TINY LITTLE LIBRARY THAT'S PART OF OUR SYSTEM THAT HAS, YOU KNOW, 352 PARENTS THAT ARE VERY CONCERNED AS TO WHAT'S GOING ON THERE. IT'S VERY, VERY DIFFERENT. THE CITY IS GOING TO HAVE CUTS AND THERE'S NO DOUBT ABOUT IT, AND MOST OF YOUR LIBRARIES ARE LIKE THAT. BUT, I MEAN, I'M PROUD OF PLACES LIKE EL MONTE THAT NOT ONLY PUT IT ON YEARS AGO BUT THEY ARE PAYING A GOOD SHARE OF THEIR SERVICES AND THERE'S NO DOUBT WHAT MR. KNABE IS SAYING IS CORRECT. HE HAS LIBRARIES IN HIS DISTRICT THAT HAVE A VERY STRONG GROUP OF FRIENDS THAT HAVE JOINED WITH IT. THEY HAVE PUT TOGETHER NOT ONLY FUNDRAISING, THEY HAVE PLANS AND RELATIONSHIPS WITH THE CITY THAT REALLY PARTNER IN ASSISTING THOSE LIBRARIES. AND, AGAIN, WE NEED TO TAKE THAT INTO ACCOUNT. I THINK THAT HAS VALUE. THE REALITY HERE IS OUR PARKS AND OUR LIBRARIES, OUR COUNTY PARKS AND OUR COUNTY LIBRARIES, NEED TO BENEFIT FROM THE PARTNERSHIP THAT WE HAVE THE CITIES ARE IN. OUR PARKS ARE IN THE SAME SITUATION. YOU KNOW, FOR CITIES TO JUST SAY, "HEY, TOUGH LUCK, THAT'S YOUR COUNTY PARK, I DON'T HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH IT." WE HAD A TREMENDOUS RELATIONSHIP OF WHAT WE DID IN MONTEBELLO IN OUR SHARING. I MEAN, DEBS PARK TODAY BELONGS TO THE CITY OF LOS
