NGO Estonian Association Anti-AIDS

Association  carries out  projects on HIV/STI prevention and promotion of safer sexual behaviour among scoolchildren, adolescent students, schoolteachers and army recruits. The Association has developed innovative training material in Estonian and Russian based on WHO and UNESCO manuals and other International organizations. The Association works in close collaboration with State organisations and NGOs.

Continuous Close collaboration with the School for the Blind on issues o training of blind persons as switchboard operators.


Organization and coordination of vocational training and rehabilitation programs for the blind in various sectors.


Annual General Assemblies of the Organization, which were fairly well attended (200 out of the 965 members.


Seminars entitled "Latest Developments in the Field of Ophthalmology and Ocular Diseases and Current Therapeutic Methods" (29 June, 2002 - Amathus Beach Hotel, Limassol & 1st October, 2005, Europa Hotel - Nicosia).


Organization of meetings and seminars on various subjects concerning health and nutrition, physical fitness and eugenics by the Commissions of Youth, Women, Sports, Recreation and Leisure of the Organization.


Digitisation of the Catalogues of the talking book library and the library of Braille books, that can be searched electronically at the website of the University of Cyprus.


Coordination and organization of different events for the celebration of the European Year of People with Disabilities in Cyprus.


Implementation of the European Union Programme "Youth for Europe", with the participation of 15 members of the Sport Club "Ifaestos" from Thessalonica – Greece and 15 young members of the Organization (Nicosia – October, 2002).
