Load Simulation and Analysis in Automotive Engineering: Vehicle Ride Comfort Modeling/ Simulation/Testing and Analysis (Part 3 of 5) (M501)

This technical session will focus on advanced technologies in material modeling, stress calculation and fatigue analysis, not only innovative and improved methods in these areas but also innovative and improved applications to automotive engineering. This technical session accepts papers in the following specific areas: new material constitutive model development, innovative and improved modeling techniques for stresses, recent advances in fatigue damage calculation and fatigue life predictions .

This session focuses on modeling and simulation of driver behavior, driving simulators, vehicle ride comfort evaluation and enhancement, test/simulation correlation, and damage modeling and analysis techniques; also of interest are studies regarding vehicle elastomeric components, passive, semi-active and active suspension systems, suspension seats, beaming, shaking, impact harshness, brake judder with regard to the

ride comfort of drivers, passengers, and goods.

Advances in Instrument Panels and Interiors (Part 1 of 2) (M301)

The technical session is organized to represent the general research in the areas of welding, riveting, joining, and fastening for automotive applications. Papers in this session focus on the recent advances in the process optimization, analytical solution, numerical modeling, response evaluation as well as static and dynamic testing of traditional resistance spot welds, gas metal arc welds, friction stir spot welds, laser welds, rivets, mounts, adhesives, and fasteners.

This session will feature technical presentations that will discuss new technology and industry insights in automotive interiors. Focus areas include materials, perceived quality, environmental concerns, manufacturing, safety, and durability.
