Focuses on SI combustion technologies

This session explores EcoCAR team R&D activities as the teams refine their diverse collection of advanced powertrains. Come hear about what the teams learned as they converted conventional GM donated vehicles to various versions of hybrid electric, plug-in hybrid electric, plug-in fuel cell electric, and full function electric vehicles running on ethanol, biodiesel blends, hydrogen, and electricity.

This session focuses on the impact of conventional and alternative fuels as well as fuel additives on the operation, performance and emissions of SI engines. Papers focus on the impact of bio-derived fuels (ethanol, butanol and others) on engine design and performance as well as gasoline properties and additives, and their impact.
