A play on AIDS Awareness was staged by pupil teachers, which conveyed the causes and consequences of AIDS in a convincing manner.

A Skit on AIDS was also presented depicting how our youth is becoming victim to this deadly syndrome.

A puppet show was also staged by students for which they themselves made puppets. The message was given with conventional means in a novel way.

Many students sang motivational tappe (folk couplets) to confront AIDS in a different manner.

Extension Lectures organized during the NSS Camp:

Dr. C. L. Narang, Director, computer Education, Punjab Red Cross Society, Chandigarh delivered a lecture on social service and Youth Employment on 22nd December 2007.

Mrs. Navneet Chopra, Lecturer, Rayat & Bahra College of Education, organized an inter-house quiz on AIDS Awareness in the village on 27th December 2007.

Dr. R. P. Verma, Project Director, Punjab Red Cross Society, Chandigarh delivered a talk on Health and Hygiene with special emphasis on Mother & child on 28th December 2007.

A lecture on AIDS Awareness was delivered by Mr. R.P Verma, Project Director, Red Cross Society, Chandigarh in the village on 28th December 2007. Villagers also participated and asked questions a bit hesitantly.

Activities of Students during the NSS Camp

Throughout the camp, students were engaged in the following activities:

Door to door campaigning was done and a survey was conducted by pupil teachers regarding AIDS Awareness among villagers. In this survey students asked questions regarding AIDS and most of the villagers were aware of facts related to AIDS but hesitated to talk freely about it.

On 23rd December 2007, an AIDS Awareness Rally marched in every lane of the village. The theme of the rally was ‘ Jago Mere Desh de loko, AIDS roko, AIDS roko.’ Mrs. Naseeb Kaur, a renowned social worker and
