This helped in highlighting the active role played by women in AIDS prevention. All the students wore T-shirts painted on Blood Donation and AIDS Awareness. They carried posters and slogans that they made themselves.
Puppet Shows on AIDS Awareness were staged on different days viz. 24th, 25th and 29th December 2007 with different stories based on social evils.
Pupil teachers made slogans and posters on AIDS Awareness. These were displayed in the village Dharamshala for villagers as well.
An inter house quiz on AIDS Awareness was organized and conducted by Mrs. Navneet Chopra and Mr. Deputy Raj. Three Students each from four houses namely, Aurobindo, Tagore, Gandhi and Vivekananda houses participated in the quiz. Following teams bagged positions:
First position - Rajender, Indu, Parveen
Second position – Mispreet, Palwinder and Simranjeet Kaur
Third position -Ravi Kumar, Nishu Kaushik, Sukhvinder Singh.
On 25th December 2007, Christmas Day was celebrated in which one of the NSS volunteers, Rajinder Singh wore a Santa dress and looked like Santa Claus. Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Indu Rihani cut the Christmas cake. The cake was distributed among the joyous village children and the NSS volunteers. NSS volunteers moved around the village and Santa Claus distributed gifts that included toffees, toys, balloons etc. not only to the village children but also to the adults, housewives and senior citizens of the village.
Everyday in the afternoon session, literacy classes were conducted at different places in the adopted village so as to enable the villagers learn to write their names.
Hobby classes for rangoli, flower making, card making, mehandi and pot painting were conducted at different places in adopted village throughout the camp.
