Hall sender G40
The Hall sender signal enables the engine con- trol unit to recognize the ignition position for cylinder 1 with ignition systems without a distribu- tor. The ignition point for the other cylinders and the commencement of injection are calculated from this.

The connection to the control unit must not be interrupted in the process, otherwise the engine will stop.

The Hall sender signal between contacts 2 and 3 can be displayed as a curve on the DSO by inter- mediate connection of an adapter lead from the V.A.G. 1594A test set which permits parallel con- nection of the DSO measuring lead of the VAS 5051 tester on the Hall sender.
