Further investigate regarding the supply of inert gas from the shore regarding smaller existing ships that cannot retro-fit, and in particular attention should be made to the “USCG inert gas from shore report” to establish what may be of assistance to the INTERTANKO position within the report.

Request the INTERTANKO research section to produce a 2nd complimentary graph of the “accidents and explosions graph” which simply focuses on the period since the accidents/incidents have started to increase. i.e. a detailed summary of the period since 1st quarter 2006 to current time to enable a more detailed focus of the trend.

The committee agreed that several of these bottle neck group concerns could be incorporated into the inert gas revision work and addressed through IMO via subsequent proposed changes on inert gas.
