The property is covered by policy HSG8 (Established Housing Areas) in the Southern Area Local Plan Finalised Draft (Modified 2001 and 2004), and also by the policy for areas of primarily residential use in the adopted Uddingston and Tannochside Town Map (1973)
Contrary to Development Plan:
One letter of objection
Planning permission is sought for the erection of a two storey extension to the side of 61 Glencroft Avenue, Uddingston. The applicant also seeks permission for the erection of a rear extension which would project 1.9 metres from the rear elevation and would be 3.5 metres with a sloping roof finished in materials that match the existing house. The side extension would be 3.2 metres wide and 7.5 metres long and consist of a single garage through which access to the rear of the property could be gained. The extension would provide an additional bedroom to the front of the property and a study to the rear on the first floor. The site is situated within an established residential area and the dwelling is a two storey semi-detached property and is approximately 500mm higher than the adjoining property. There are no relevant policies in the adopted local plan, however, Policies HSG8 (residential amenity) and HSG13 (house extensions) of the finalised Southern Area Local Plan are material planning considerations in this instance. The “Developers Guide to open space” is also relevant.
