This application requires to be referred to the Scottish Ministers as an application in which the Council has an interest which is contrary to the development plan and which has a significant body of objections. If granted, the planning permission will not be issued until an Agreement under Section of the Town & Country Planning (Scotland) Act has been concluded with the applicant in respect of the restricting the future use of the existing Tesco store to non-retail town centre uses only. A Stopping Up Order under Section 203 of the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act

will be required to allow the works to close the link between Main Street with Wishaw Low RoadlGlen Road.
