This application seeks retrospective Hazardous Substances Consent relating to the storage 18 050 000 litres of whisky (ethanol) at the existing bonded warehouse site at Goil Avenue, Wishaw. The applicant intends to regularise the storage of whisky which will be stored indoors and has also confirmed that no refrigeration or cooling units are proposed. No objections have been received as a result of the required newspaper advert. The Health and Safety Executive, as well as all other consultees, have expressed no objections to the application. It is therefore recommended that this application be approved subject to the appropriate conditions.
