Coffee with the Pastors
If you’ve been coming to Ashland’s worship or small groups or fellowship events but haven’t had an opportunity to find out about membership at Ashland, ―Coffee with the Pastors‖ is a chance to do that. Pastors Gary and Tere would enjoy the opportunity to get to know you and to also introduce you to the mission and ministries the people of Ashland are all about. Join us Sunday afternoon, August 29, at 3:00, in Room G13 (lower level, east hallway).
We’re pleased to announce the recipients of the following scholarships: Ashland scholarship and Elizabeth Oliver scholarships ($500 each) – Dallas Jenkins Myrtle Van Loon scholarship ($500) – Andrew Zeiler Dallas will be at Oklahoma State University and Andrew will be attending Truman State University. Congratulations to both!

This will be an on-going feature in the Messenger, providing an opportunity to address questions that seem to come up more than once.
Q - Why is there a ―blank‖ red banner hang- ing at the front of the Sanctuary? A – When we began the season of Pentecost, our worship series on the Holy Spirit had that red background and the words ―I Be- lieve in the Holy Spirit‖ on the front of the worship bulletin and on the website. We had the banner made for that series, but left the wording off the banner so we can use it during Pentecost in future years or for other purposes on other occasions. As we con- tinue in the season of Pentecost we’ve left the banner in place since the red goes with the paraments (cloths) on the pulpit and altar and the red drape on the cross hanging over the altar.
Strong, burly, willing and able men to be the official "back-stage" crew for the Worship in the Park service on Septem- ber 12.
We are needing 5 or 6 men to help in the moving and unloading of equipment on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning.
If you are willing to help in this tempo- rary ministry, please contact Shaun Agnew (279-7419) or Robyn Rogers (324-5465).
