9. Memory Ideas
Elements of memories are stored in different parts of the brain. If we give students a variety of ways to engage with the topic, we secure a wider network of the memory’s storage and make it easier for students to retrieve the memory later.
Every time a neuron fires, it increases the likelihood that it will ignite in the future, and if it doesn’t fire for a while, it takes more stimulation and sometimes relearning to restart it. Therefore, teachers must spiral the curriculum, visiting and revisiting information all year long.
