‘08 UNDERWOOD SCHOLARSHIP WINNER: Kristin Godwin
Kristin Godwin will have an extra $1000 toward her education from the Underwood family this year. She is the recipient of the 2008 Underwood 4-H Scholarship, which was presented to her during the Blue Ridge High School awards night on May 21st. Since a photo was not taken during the awards, we hope to have one in the next newsletter.
A quote from Kristin’s application: “I would like to further my education because it will help me become more successful later in life. I plan to hopefully start my own business in Drafting and designing houses. Going to college and taking business classes and getting a degree in Architecture will help me accomplish these goals. I will first attend Northland Pioneer College, and move on to ei- ther U of A or ITT Tech from there.”
Thanks to the generosity of the Underwood family, this scholarship has grown from $100 to $1000 since it was first presented in 1974. This year, Kristin was the 25th recipient (it wasn’t awarded for two of the early years). We sincerely appreciate all the support the Underwood family
has provided all these years. CONGRATULATIONS, KRISTIN!!!
ARIZONA 4-H & DIAMONDBACKS DAY—tentatively scheduled for either August 9th or 10. More information to be supplied soon. For those of you who attended several years ago and enjoyed the trip, be on the lookout for the announcement. One of our former 4-Hers, Anneka Bergstrand sang the National anthem at that game… what a treat!
