1.PRODUCT NAME

HAMMERITE DIRECT TO GALV PAINT

2.DESCRIPTION

Hammerite Direct to Galv Paint is a single pack, air drying decorative coating for application to Galvanised Steel and other non-ferrous metals without the need for a primer. The product uses an alkyd designed for general purpose high quality air-drying and force drying industrial finishes and exhibits properties of fast surface dry, excellent through dry in thick films, early recoatability and minimum yellowing. Hammerite Direct to Galv can be applied by brush, roller and spray.The specially selected resin imparts a gloss finish which resists dirt pick up. Hammerite Direct to Galv Paint is designed to give excellent one coat coverage.

3.USE

As a decorative coating for galvanised and non-ferrous metals, wood and certain plastics.

4.APPEARANCE

Hammerite Direct to Galv Paint - a smooth gloss. Note: Bronze, Silver and Copper are metallic sheen finishes.

5.COLOUR RANGE

See colour chart. Note: Hammerite Direct to Galv Paint Finishes are produced to Hammerite Products Limited's own in-house colour standards and are not matched to BS 4800, RAL or other colour standards. 6. COUR MIXING Do not mix Hammerite Direct to Galv Paint with itself or any other Hammerite finish’s.

6.SURFACE PREPARATION

BARE METAL SURFACES:

  • New galv should be weathered until dull before application of DTG (this is true of both

spangled and non-spangled galv)

before application of DTG.

  • Abrade giving a key to subsequent coatings. This is essential to remove any pretreatment factory finish (chromate pre-treatment etc). Abrasion should be with coarse sandpaper rather than fine to ensure removal of this coating.

  • Degrease with Hammerite Brush Cleaner & Thinners, a proprietary metal degreaser or diluted detergent both for removal of surface contaminants and soluble salts.

  • Rinse with clean water.

  • Allow to dry.
