The project is smaller, simpler and fused with a focus on the creative use of fabrics to get marvelous special effects while making a small wall hanging measuring approximately 10"x 12". Machine Quilting 101

The class will cover all the steps from layering to finishing off your threads, troubleshooting uncooperative machines, along with plenty of machine quilting techniques. Students will bring a pieced top from a pattern provided, in the supply list, ready to layer on which they will practice various techniques and styles of quilt- ing. Techniques include marking and quilting a traditional feather design, stippling (both clas- sical and innovative), crosshatching, quilting with freezer paper tem- plates, quilting through tracing paper, quilting using a grid and free motion spontaneous de- sign. You start with twelve squares of fabric, whack them up, stir them up, and put’um back together. The trick is to em- bellish the seams as we go! This quilt is great for begin- ners and beyond. Break out those holiday fabrics (works up great in Halloween too!) and whip up a great fun quilt. This can be lap size to queen size and finishes up in record time. Learn to hand embroider these cute pandas, paint them, and assemble the quilt. We will learn to set in circles, a technique that can be applied to many quilts. First Class will be painting and instructions of embroidery. The second class will include the set in circles and assembly of the quilt. In- structor: Melanie Chang Oct 12th 6:30pm-8:30pm $50

Snow Flower

This lovely quilt goes to- gether quickly with strip piecing techniques. The quilt can be made any size by increasing or de- creasing the number of blocks used. Paper Piecing Club

Meet every 3rd Monday to construct these wonderful paper piecing quilt flower blocks. Each month we’ll meet and make a different flower block, use one or do all to make a fantastic quilt.
