Eligible athletes and cheerleaders must finish their season in good standing and have the permission form signed by all of their teachers and approved by the principal. Athletes, under the direction of their coaches, are responsible for their conduct, transportation, lodging, food, and tickets.
All summer programs whether reimbursed or not, should be coordinated with the Athletic Director and Administration to avoid conflicts as well as to comply with IHSA and SIJHSAA rules. Facility usage around the summer maintenance schedule must be communicated and coordinated by all participants. Remember – any summer program can not be a requirement for in-season participation. (VGS B.P. 7:300 – R)
All school assemblies must be pre-approved by the Administration and scheduled with the office secretary.
All in-season practice schedules are the responsibility of the head coaches

All participants must be given an advanced practice schedule (this includes players and coaches)
Practice schedules shall be posted in the gym, the gym lobby, and the athletic director’s office

Practices that are held on days when school is not in session must comply with IHSA and IHSJAA rules and must be approved by Administration.
Athletic programs must cooperate with the music and performance programs for the use of the gym, however, athletic programs will be given priority directly after school for practice and contests.
For supervision purposes, one coach per sport may be exempt from teacher’s meetings during season when practices are required. It is the duty of the athletic director to notify any coaches not in attendance of the itinerary covered in the teacher’s meeting.
