Unexcused Absences at practice or games will result in a reasonable consequence to be determined by the head coach. A second unexcused absence will also be of the discretion of the head coach. A third unexcused absence may result in a player being dismissed from the team.
Excused absences at practice or games will be at the discretion of the head coach’s team policy
Practices or games missed due to in-school suspension will result in a reasonable consequence to be determined by the head coach. An out-of-school suspension will also be at the discretion of the head coach’s team policy. Two suspensions may result in a player’s dismissal from the team.
Practices or games missed due to an academic requirement will be excused. Action taken will be left up to the discretion of the coach.
Practices missed due to attendance at school approved (non-educational), but optional event will be treated as unexcused and will be acted upon at the discretion of the coach. Vacations, deer hunting, and other such pre-arranged and school approved absences may result in limiting a player’s participation.
If a player is habitually absent from practices or games for any reason, the coach will set up a conference with the player and the player’s parents. If attendance does not improve, then, the player may face dismissal from the team.
In general, if a player is at school, it is expected that the player attend practices and games, even if injured and able to attend.
Players who are suspended for a game or games, must accompany the team to the contest and sit on the bench in street clothes that comply with dress code rules of that particular team.

If a student wishes to participate in or attend an extra-curricular event on a day when school is in session, he/she must be in school attendance that day except in instances when the student’s absence is excused for reasons other than illness. The parents/guardians of the student are required to notify the school in advance of a pre-arranged absence in order to determine the student’s eligibility to participate in or attend extra-curricular activities that same date. If the absence is unexcused, or the school was not notified in advance, the student will not be allowed to participate or attend. If a student cannot attend at least one half day of school (must be in attendance by 11:00 a.m.), the student will be determined to be too sick to participate or attend that day’s extra-curricular event.
A student may attend or participate in an extra-curricular activity on a non-school day immediately following a school day on which he/she was absent only if the absence is excused. Once again, the responsibility of contacting the school in advance is the responsibility of the parent/guardian. If there is no advance notification, the student will not be able to participate.
Extra-curricular activities held two or more days after the most recent day of school will not be affected by absences from school.
