My message this month follows one of our signature events, the Taste of Roselle. Our participation in the Taste is an event I look forward to every year, and one I look back on with a sense of pride and accomplish- ment.

There are many to congratulate and recognize for an- other successful Taste. I would like start by thanking the Village of Roselle and the Taste Commission for their continued support and dedication in hosting this event. Village services and volun- teers continue to make it possible for us to celebrate 28 years in hosting this community event.

The Chamber’s participation in the Taste starts with the support of our Board of Direc- tors. While space does not allow me to name all who participated, I’d like to mention a few. With the assistance of our Executive Director Gail Croson, I thank Board members Joe Salerno and Jay Mueller, DDS for taking on the responsibility of running our Bingo and Beer Tents once again this year. The experience that these individuals bring to our tents, and the commitment of time from several other Board members, makes our participation possible.

The success in our tents is due to our hard-working volunteers and our generous spon- sors. I’m sure that most, if not all volunteers, will agree that we’re satisfied by a job well done while having a great deal of fun. I thank the 100+ members and friends who volunteered their time in accommodating the needs of our patrons. Proceeds from the Bingo Tent were strengthened through contributions from our sponsors. We recognize and thank these businesses, organizations and individuals for their support. A list of our sponsors can be found within this newsletter.

We will closeout our summer activities with three events. Our Group Outing at Arlington Park Race Track is set for Friday, August 21. The “official” reservation deadline was in July, however additional tickets may be available at the discretion of Arlington Park. If you have not yet responded, and you are interested in attending, please contact Gail at the Chamber office. Be sure to join us for Business After Hours at Costco Wholesale in Bloomingdale on August 26 when we will meet with four other chambers. And in ap- preciate of our support of Bloomingdale Golf Club, Don Helmig has invited us to his home on August 27 for a barbecue and outdoor activities. Members from Addison and Bloomingdale Chambers will be in attendance.

I hope to see many of you at these events to take advantage of the networking oppor- tunities that await you.
