Editorial ~ Special Edition

Welcome to another bumper special edition, which now runs to 52 pages ! The Community Partnerships have kindly funded the extra 1,400 copies for Hookhills, to publicise their existence to all residents of the district. However, this level of funding is unlikely to continue beyond this issue, and THE GAZETTE will then revert to its previous circulation.

Community Partnerships Special Edition

Galmpton, Churston, and Broadsands have a Community Partnership, which was inaugurated by a large majority vote at the meeting last March. The boundary between this and the adjoining Goodrington, Roselands, and Hookhills Community Partnership is still open to some discussion. For more details, and dates of meetings please turn to Page 19.

Hookhills Neighbourhood Magazine

Is anyone interested in producing a magazine like THE GAZETTE just for the Hookhills district ? If not, then this may be the last one you have delivered. I will be only too pleased to show you the ropes and get you started. All you need is a PC with broadband, reasonably good experience with E-mail and word-processing, plus an aptitude for organised thinking.

More Delivery Volunteers

We already have about forty volunteers who deliver your magazine, but a few more would always be useful. Please contact the Editor if you are able to help, especially if you live in Hookhills Road, Broadsands Park Road, Broadsands Bend, Langdon Lane, or Higher Warborough Road.

Community Police News

Surgeries are now being held in Galmpton Post Office and others planned for venues in Broadsands and Hookhills. See Diary Dates on Page 26. We say goodbye to Beat Manager Glenn Chambers, and say welcome to his successor Tracy Serruys, who will be assisted by PCSO Paul Martin

and Special Sergeant Paul Addison.
