4.WORK CONTEXT

The post holder will need great personal drive and enthusiasm to set up the systems and procedures required to ensure the effective and efficient operation of financial investigations.  S/he will need to work with partners and to be a part of an innovative, proactive and driven team. S/he will plan and manage their own workload with the minimum of supervision and   be a key member of the Trading Standards Improvement and Development Team.

The individual post holder will need to work outside normal office hours as and when required.

5.   DIMENSIONS

Financial

The post holder will have no budgetary control.  However, the post holder will need the ability to deal with cash, cheques, giro cheques, goods and valuables and develop procedures for the safe keeping of such items.

Method of assessment

Accreditation under parts 2 & 8 of the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002.

Accreditation to conduct Cash Seizures.

Diploma in Consumer Affairs or equivalent

Knowledge

Knowledge of the National Intelligence Model

Knowledge of relevant legislation including the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 and The Money Laundering Regulations 2007.
