KRWG-TV: Summer Festival

Featured in the photo (left to right) is Bill Royal, Albuquerque radio host, Anthony Casaus, KRWG Development Director, and George Tomsco, Fireballs band member in the KNME-TV studio June 4th. This was part of the New Mexico Public Broadcasting June pledge drive that was broadcast throughout the state with KRWG, KNME and KENW to raise funding support for programming. The program featured George Tomsco and the Fireballs in a program about the entertainers and Norman Petty Studios in Clovis, New Mexico. The Fireballs had many hitslike “Sugar Shack” asdid the recording studio with names such as Buddy Holly and Leann Rimes who made their start there. KRWG, KNME and KENW collaborated for two evenings during the weeklong drive throughout New Mexico to raise money for the annual summer drive. Overall, KRWG raised $22,390 and secured 90 new members.
